FORMER Premier League defender Liam Ridgewell has been arrested in America for 'driving under the influence of intoxicants'.
The 32-year-old defender, who now captains MLS side Portland Timbers, was taken to Clackamas County jail in Oregan along with team-mate Jake Gleeson late on Monday night.
According to American publication Oreganlive, both players posted a £6,175 bail for their charges.
Their first court date ahead of their drunk driving charge will be November 16.
Ridgewell kick-started his career at Aston Villa where he played for five years before moving to fierce rivals Birmingham in 2007 where he won the League Cup.
He later signed for West Brom before joining Portland Timbers in the summer of 2014.
The English defender won the MLS Cup with the club last season but his side failed to qualify for the play-offs this time around.
In 2012, Ridgewell caused uproar when a picture emerged of him squatting over a toilet and wiping his backside with £20 notes.
Scattered on the floor in front of him were dozens more £20 notes, totalling almost £1,000.
